A self-satirical train wreck that you can witness word by word...

And for those who doubt my son Armand Bovoso, indeed he is part Black. I'm Black and Italian. Armand is Black, italian, and Ukranian Jewish. Send me an email if you can't accept this.

Out of Africa

Looks like I've come across a new internet scam. Very interesting one indeed. I recently starting using Yahoo messenger in order to chat with some folks who aren't on AIM. There's a great program for the Mac called Fire. Fire allows you to chat with all the services (ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ect.). Around the same time I decided to update my Yahoo profile with a new picture and all. Apparently there are an abundance of women in African countries who seem to take interest with me. The first one called herself Joyce.

Kind of cute. She said I was a nice man and immediately asked me if I was married. She said she was from Ghana. In our first conversation we had this exchange:

aledro
do you ever come to the USA?

joyceo
I hope to chat with you everyday
no
will you send me there?
am single
want some one like you for a long lasting relationship that can lead to marrage in the near future
can you call me on the phone now?
is God who made us meet today

On our second conversation was the highlight from her :

joyceo
wow what a nice picture
I love you ok

Over the next month I mostly ignored her chat invitations but one day I decided to chat again because I had nothing better to do. Here's the whopper.

joyceo
I want to come and visit you
when do you want me to come
but you have to send me invitation letter which will help me get a visa at the American Embassy here
give me your email
now I do not have passport
will help me process a passport?

Hmmm. I ignored her from then on until she left me alone. In October I had another African woman contact me. Here is our conversation pretty much verbatim

queen4

That was pretty much that for me. Never did hear from her again. I also received messages from many other women that never really went anywhere. One was from Tracey who claimed to be from London but originally from San Francisco. She typed with the same bad accent as the others. Something was definitely up.

Today I received IMs from two different African women. Here is the first one, short and sweet.

aledro
where do you live?

kelly_k
west afeica

aledro
ah yes
i have hadn a number of women contact me from diffferent parts of africa
what country?

That was that. She never responded. About 5 hours later I received another IM. The details (and broken English) are exactly the same as the others. She claimed to be from "UK." I asked which part and she told me Kingston. I asked her if that was in England and she said, "No, it's in the UK." UK? Oh-kay... We had some small debate about it and then she asked if I wanted to see her picture. Get a load of what she sent me. The subject of the email said: "elsha or jjessica picture"

I think I'm going to have fun with the next person who tries to contact me with this same story. I might even devote a blog to it's evolution.

True Lesbian Stories Part 3

When I was 20 I got a job working as a bouncer in New York City. To this day I'm not really sure how I got hired but I think the owners were looking for people with no experience at all. I have so many club stories that I'll have to save them for future posts. For now let me zone in on one particular even at this club.

The club was named Quick. It was the hot new club in NYC for about 5 minutes before it all turned to dust. Mainstream clubs in NYC at the time all had one night set aside as the "gay night." Typically this was a great party but not so great if you were a 21 year old straight guy looking for some action. Back then I was always on the prowl. I was typically stationed at the ticket taker's stand so I got to see them all walk in. The ticket taker was a guy named John who was young and good looking and always on the prowl as well.

One of the promoters of the gay party at club Quick took it upon themselves to hire their own ticket taker. In walked A. She the cutest demi-butch lesbian you'd ever seen. She stood about 5 feet flat. She was quite the popular person at the club. Her friends would frequent the place and all come hangout around her.

She became very taken with me and John. One night she all of a sudden told us, "I don't know. If there's anyone who could turn me straight it would be two of you." This became her mantra for the weeks to come.

One night she told us that she was going away to school and would be leaving town in two weeks. John and I knew this was our queue to take action. That night we wound up sandwiched on the ends of her as she took tickets. Her friends would turn the corner to see the deli sandwich of one slice white, one slice wheat, and tender pussy cat meat in between. Jaws dropped on the floor as the Lesbian Foot Patrol came across a crime scene that had them shaken to the core.

"What are you doing??", they would screech out.

A. just shrugged her shoulders and then went back to her enjoyment.

The real story here is what happened on her last night at the club. With nothing to loose we would up in a full make out and fooling around session at the front of the club. We would all (or two of us) disappear at time to various isolated rooms in the club. That night the three of us wound up at my apartment, which is a whole blog story unto itself. Too bad I really can't tell that one here. We didn't manage to make a convert out of her but boy did we give her a story to remember. The other story I can't really tell here is about the time she came back to the club months later for a visit. Oh man... or in this case: Oh les-bi-an...

If you haven't read the post before this one please do.

You back? OK, good. On with the show.

I moved to Los Angeles in 1996 from San Francisco where I began my career as a profession Macintosh analyst. Being in LA I naturally wound up working for the entertainment industry. The first of these jobs was for Sony Pictures Entertainment. When you work for a movie/TV studio like Sony you meet all kind of people from interns to A list movie stars. Well more like you bump into them. It's a very bad move to somehow you're a part of things when you're the tech guy. Just the same, being the tech guy everyone comes to you for favors. Favors usually means wanting free software.

Somehow an intern on some movie or TV show wound up in my offices on some kind of techie gopher mission. Her name was M and she sent my gaydar into the red. At the end of our first conversation M asked if I happened to have access to any free software. She was looking for a copy of Final Draft which is the MS Word for screen writers. M was an aspiring film maker and actually a fascinating person. I don't remember how it transpired but somehow M and I became a bit taken with each other and she wound up in my apartment. Sure enough M was a lesbian who had never been with a man. She was kind of torn at the thought of being attracted to someone from the opposite sex. Would the Lesbian Foot Patrol come and take her into the paddy wagon? I decided to pull out the stops and get romantic. I decided to invite her back to my house on another night. I knew of a great lesbian film that she had never seen called Go Fish. Go Fish was one of those movies that won first prize at most gay film festivals. It was shot by two lesbian independent film makers who took a very guerilla film making approach. The stage was set. Great food and a great lesbian film to bond together with.

The evening went over well. She loved the food and was very taken with the film. I think we might have kissed a little but she wound up going home very soon. The next day I got this message on my machine.

"Alessandro, hi. I just wanted to tell you that I'm taking all of my stuff and going to Texas to finally make my film. I can't thank you enough. Showing me that movie last night really inspired me. I know who I am and what I have to do now."

I never did see M again. Boy, talk about a backfire.
